The U. of M. iteration of the Wilkins lab is starting to take shape. Last week through the no less than heroic effort of a team of movers, the -80 freezer was delivered to the lab. The freezer is somewhat bigger than typical and wouldn't fit in the elevator. The movers had been forewarned and so came prepared with straps and dollies. None the less, it took a load of people the better part of an hour to get the freezer up to the fifth floor - see the attached picture to get a sense of their task. Other equipment - nanodrop, qPCR machines, centrifuges, etc - has come up, less remarkably, in the elevator. More news and pictures of the lab coming soon.
